These workshops
are open to all
players (amateur, student, and professional) who desire an opportunity
to look in depth at these marvelous works. Pre-formed groups are
encouraged to apply.
The Workshops take
place from
10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
and will involve:

One-on-one
coaching in quartet format
-
Open rehearsal/discussion by MSQ where issues relating to performance
and preparation of each quartet will be discussed
-
A talk by David Clampitt, musicologist at
Ohio State
University, on historical and theoretical aspects of the work
-
A performance of each work by the Manhattan String
Quartet
The one-day, all inclusive price
of $180 for
each workshop includes lunch. Due to the individual nature of
the coachings and master classes, each workshop is limited to 32 participants.
